CAST 6. Demonstrate Positive and Negative Curve Casts at approximately 40 feet.

It is important to note that both of these casts can place a curve line either to the right or the left of the caster. Gary Borger, in his book "Presentation," refers to these casts as underpowered or overpowered casts. The curves are placed at the end of the line with certain degrees of power as opposed to a mend which takes place after the power application stops. There are several ways to curve the fly line to the right or left. The Master candidate should be familiar with more than one way to execute this type cast.
