CAST 23. Explain and demonstrate casting into a head wind.

THE WORDS YOU USE MUST CONSISTANTLY REFLECT WHAT YOU ARE DEMONSTRATING.

Your explanation of the wind cast must include that it is a HIGH angled back cast followed by a LOW angle forward cast with HIGH line speed that produces a very tight loop aimed close to the water. A good trajectory for the wind cast might be from 10:00 o'clock on the backcast to 4:00 o'clock on the forward cast, an 10 to 4 casting plane. Mel Krieger's book " The Essence of Fly Casting" has an excellent description and picture of the wind cast.
