CAST 4. REACH CAST LEFT. 35 - 40 feet.

Extremely important, the reach cast or reach mend allows the line to be repositioned for better drift. The longest drift will generally be a result of the longest reach. For this to happen the candidate must reach the rod over to a position parallel to the waters flow. The final layout of the line will result in the fly and fly line being in a straight line down to the rod tip. The candidate must "SLIP" or not slip line if requested.
